A PLAN FOR YOUR HOUSEHOLD

Family readiness score

How does the score work?

Twelve questions have equal weight. “Not yet” gives 0 points, “Partly” 1, and “Yes” 2. We divide the sum by 24 and round to a whole score out of 100. Categories are below 25: choose a first step; 25–49: basics in progress; 50–74: plan in progress; 75–100: review your plan. This is Strongstead’s way to organize next steps, not an official risk scale.

From a score to action

We select up to three lowest-scoring answers, using question order for ties. Water and food come first in that order, but urgent health needs and local hazards always take priority. Answers are not saved. Sharing includes only your score and this page’s address.
