Frequently asked questions

01 Where can I get Strongstead?

Use the App Store link on this page. Strongstead is for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or later.

02 Does it work without internet?

Saved information and plans are available offline. Your data lives on your device, not on any server of ours. Two things are optional and stay off until you switch them on: an encrypted iCloud Drive backup, and Family Share, which syncs the categories you choose through your own iCloud. Maps need tiles downloaded in advance; barcode lookup queries Open Food Facts when enabled. Cloud services and optional Apple Maps route snapping need internet access. Calls and SOS messages need phone/SMS service; you review messages before sending.

03 Do I need an account?

There is no Strongstead account and no login — install and start. If you want the encrypted backup or Family Share, those run on your own Apple/iCloud account; nothing is created on our side. Device-to-device sync also works locally over Wi-Fi, without iCloud.

04 How much does it cost?

Your choice: a one-time purchase (buy once, use forever) or a monthly / yearly subscription. Current pricing for your region is shown in the App Store and in the app.

05 Someone in my family has PRO — how do I get it?

PRO is shared through Apple Family Sharing. Be part of the subscriber’s Apple family with purchase sharing on, and PRO activates by itself when you open the app. If it does not, open Settings → the PRO card → “Restore Purchases”. The in-app family-share invitation only connects data; the licence always comes through Apple Family Sharing.

06 What about Face ID / document privacy?

The vault is encrypted on your device with AES-GCM. The key is derived from your PIN and stored in the iOS Keychain marked device-only, so it never reaches iCloud Keychain — we never see it. If you turn on vault sync, a copy of that key wrapped with your own sync passphrase travels with the sync; without that passphrase nobody can read it — not us, not Apple.

07 Is tactical mode actually useful?

It uses red controls on a black background. Choose a comfortable theme and brightness; the screen still emits light.

08 Android?

iOS only for now.
